🔒 Password & Login Security
Never share your OTP, net banking password, ATM PIN, CVV, or card expiry date — even if the caller claims to be from your bank.
Use strong, unique passwords with uppercase, lowercase, numbers & symbols. Avoid: Jan@2018, admin@123, or your birthdate.
Change passwords regularly for all online banking accounts.
Use virtual keyboard when logging in from public/cyber café computers.
Always log out completely after online banking — don’t just close the tab.
Clear browser history & cache (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) after every session.
🌐 Safe Internet & Website Practices
Verify “https://” and the padlock 🔒 before entering details on any banking site.
Never click links in suspicious emails claiming to be from your bank — type the URL manually.
Avoid public Wi-Fi or shared computers for banking — keyloggers can steal your data.
Keep bank’s customer care number saved to report fraud instantly.
💳 Card & POS Safety
Change PIN immediately when you receive a new debit/credit card.
Check sealed envelope for tampering when receiving a new card.
Never let your card out of sight during POS swipes — avoid cloning.
Cover keypad with hand while entering PIN at ATMs/POS to block CCTV spying.
Enable international transactions only when traveling abroad — disable on return.
📱 Mobile & App Security
Update smartphone OS & install trusted antivirus with auto-updates.
Download e-wallet apps only from official stores — never via SMS/email links.
Don’t save card/bank details in e-wallets to reduce breach risk.
Avoid auto-fill in browsers — it stores sensitive data.
Shop only on trusted websites — avoid search engine ads leading to fake sites.
🚨 Fraud Detection & Alerts
Register mobile for SMS alerts — verify every transaction instantly.
Monitor bank statements daily — report unknown transactions immediately.
Beware of fake “accident” calls asking family for urgent money — always verify.
Ignore “too good to be true” ads promising easy money or high returns — it’s a scam.
🛡️ ATM & Physical Safety
Watch surroundings at ATMs — avoid if someone is too close.
Cancel & walk away if ATM feels suspicious.
Close session fully before leaving the ATM.
